Energy Work
for Dying
Holy Fire Reiki I & II Certification
This six-part class series offers a three-month journey into the sacred practice of Energy Work for those called to support the dying and the grieving. Together, we’ll explore energy hygiene, intuition, and the flow of life and death as interconnected forces.
Open to both new and experienced energy workers, you’ll receive Holy Fire Reiki I and II attunements, learn to work with your own energy and with others, and practice opening portals to ease transitions at the end of life. This course is both a personal initiation and a community space for deep integration, helping you find confidence, connection, and peace in your deathwork practice.

When you sit with someone who is dying, you're sitting at the edge of two worlds. Words fail here. The usual comforts ring hollow. But energy - your energy, their energy, the energy that moves between you - can do something words cannot.
Energy work lets you open portals. Ease passages. Support transitions that happen beyond language. You learn to recognize when someone is ready to let go, when they need help crossing over, and the subtle asks of their body and being.
In Energy Work for Dying, you'll receive Holy Fire Reiki I and II attunements. Reiki is a Japanese practice of channeling universal life force energy (ki or chi) through your hands to support healing and balance. But Holy Fire Reiki works differently than other energy modalities. The energy doesn't pass through you to reach the person you're supporting. It goes directly to them. You create the channel, then step aside.
This matters deeply when working with the dying and grieving. You're not depleting yourself. You're not absorbing their fear or pain or the intensity of their transition. You're learning to hold space without taking on what isn't yours - to be fully present without burning out.
This class will help you develop your own reiki-informed practice for deathwork - one that feels true to you, that you can trust, that doesn't exhaust you. So you can be present, clear, and willing to let the energy do what it knows how to do at the end of life.

You might be a death doula, hospice worker, funeral professional, or grief companion. You might work with the dying every day or occasionally. You might already have an energy practice, or this might be your first step into this territory. All are welcome.

Our Teaching / Learning / Creating Style at La Mort
We leave behind the polished, gate-keepy approach to education. We teach in ways that carry story and experience. We listen. We laugh (a lot). We go off-script sometimes. We cry (with you)(for those you’ve loved)(for those we’ve loved). We like science and studies and logical frameworks, but also mysticism and poetry and all that stuff. We really love to honor history and those who came before. We move through some serious curricula, but don’t take anything too seriously. We dedicate ourselves to seeing you, and want you to feel seen. We deeply honor our intuition and yours. We lead with integrity (always). And we welcome the odd-balls and misfits, because it takes one to know one.
