A three-week exploration into the sacred art of trusting yourself in the work of tending to death, dying, and grief. Together, we attuned to the body’s innate wisdom, explored ways to connect with unseen allies, and learned to honor the subtle realms that shape how we serve. For those who want to unravel what it means to trust intuitive downloads, honor your connection with the dead, listen for signs and synchronicities, and lean into the felt language that lives between words.

The Dying Body
(original Class Price: $99 \\ educational hours: 1.5)
Each death is unique. Some are peaceful, others are more challenging to witness, and all are impacted greatly by the presence of diseases. This 1.5 hour, advanced workshop recording equips you with knowledge of the most common diseases Americans die from, their unique symptoms, and how to navigate and support them at the end of life (including how palliative care, hospice, and MAiD can help).

An intimate, 2-hour class led by Morgan Fava and Lauren Carroll, where we learned to craft meaningful rituals for ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities. We answered the question of what rituals are and why we need them in death and grief spaces - and explored practical ceremonies that support the entire dying process and beyond.

A 2-hour, step-by-step guide to holding a home funeral, taught by green funeral director, death educator, and La Mort co-founder Lauren Carroll, where we learned how to care for the body at home before and after death, and craft rituals that honor our loved ones and align with the natural rhythms of the Earth.

Our bodies are nutrient dense vessels that can be returned to the Earth with reverence, in an act of ecological regeneration. This 2-hour class will help you understand the environmental impact you will make with your body at the end of life, and the disposition options that support us in honoring the longevity and health of the land.

Artists
If you are an artist of any discipline (we’ve found it uncanny how many photographers there are in the death space!) who recognizes that death informs the work of each of us, whether we realize it or not, and you want to explore your relationship with death, grief, and legacy, then this membership is for you. Coming summer 2025, we’ll be opening new artist-centered groups and projects.

If you’re a death-curious person, an entrepreneur, or a seeker who feels drawn to the kinds of vital ideas and multidimensional topics we explore here, and you want to embolden your work, enrich your relationships with death and dying, and build true, meaningful friendships, come on in! The Living Library includes recordings of all past, essential, La Mort classes ($33–$333 each). This includes foundational courses, guest talks, workshops, and special sessions.

Any certificate class! Members can apply their 20% discount to immersions and advanced cohort programs like the School of Sacred Death, The Liminal, and Embodied Death Doula. (normally $333–$2,300 each).

As long as you stay in the membership, your monthly rate will remain the same. Founding Members lock in their low price forever. *If you cancel or lapse your membership and wish to rejoin, you would need to join at whatever the current rates are.

Join us in taking a radical stance in support of human-to-human connection. Death Pals is our new pen pal program where we handle all the logistics and assign you a pen pal (as we grow, you may even be assigned up to three pen pals!), and you bring your own style, put a stamp on it, drop letters in the mail, and receive magical things back. You can write about anything in Death Pals: death, grief, love, music, work, art, friendship… and you might even meet your future best friends.
Death Pals is a free La Mort offering. You do not need to become a La Mort/ L’Amour member to claim your pen pal.

Not at all (though we might argue that deathwork is itself an art)… this is a space for curious human beings from all backgrounds who want to come closer to Death and Mystery. That’s it.
We have noticed that an uncanny amount of photographers and artists cross over into the death space, and we’ve experienced firsthand how art & creativity enliven and inspire our own lives and work, so we built this space to merge the worlds. Death inspires art.. art imitates life.. and life begets death… we explore it all, and encourage you to take what resonates and leave the rest.
Why We Created This Space
LA MORT / L’AMOUR was born from a need we felt in our own lives - a longing for creative collaboration and mentorship, deep, off-the-map conversations, and soul-stirring community.
Belle has been behind the lens for over 18 years and running a business for 13. Lauren has been pioneering the death space for two decades, teaching and certifying others for the last 7. We wanted to combine our powers and create a space big enough to explore the intersection of death, art, ideas, and community. And most of all, we wanted to gather our friends, old and new, to bring their unique magic to the table.
We are living in a time of great change - an alchemical unfolding that began decades ago, carried forth by our ancestors and foremothers. As part of the timeless, vast mycelium of humanity, connected by invisible threads of love and memory, we are passionate about the new cultures are forming, new industries emerging, and new voices are being called to speak out and join together.
LA MORT / L’AMOUR is a part of this new something.

We leave behind the polished, gate-keepy approach to education. We teach in ways that carry story and experience. We listen. We laugh (a lot). We go off-script sometimes. We cry (with you)(for those you’ve loved)(for those we’ve loved). We like science and studies and logical frameworks, but also mysticism and poetry and all that stuff. We really love to honor history and those who came before. We move through some serious curricula, but don’t take anything too seriously.
