What Students are Saying…
A Note from Lauren…
Hello, you pretty thing!
I’m excited to be offering this course for the second time! I created The School of Sacred Death with my years of hands-on experience in death care and end-of-life spaces - seeing what works, and what doesn’t (there’s a lot of what doesn’t). You may have followed me from Deathwives, where I taught 18 amazing sessions of Deathschool. I am so proud of that program and truly love all of her students, but I wanted to go deeper in death: her functions, the beauty, the healing, the grief. So with my own curiosity, a deep love for people, and a desire to do things differently (or traditionally, I should say) - like our ancestors did, like our hearts know we’re meant to - The School of Sacred Death was born.
Death has been one of my greatest teachers, and this is a space we remember what’s sacred, share stories, and connect with a community of kindred spirits. Let’s explore, learn, and hold space together - because death, believe it or not, has a lot of life to offer.
xo, L

For the Thresholdkeepers
The School of Sacred Death is small, intimate mentorship, for thresholdkeepers of all kinds. For those called to the spaces in-between… life and death, imagination and form, endings and beginnings. It is for deathworkers and seekers called to deepen their practice and step into new realms of work. It is for mystics and visionaries called to deepen their relationships with the ancestors, the more-than-human allies, and Mystery itself. It is for deep grievers who are ready to reclaim lost parts of themselves from the shadows.
If you want to dive into deep learning, commune with the consciousness of death, and let her evolve you towards wholeness and mastery, you belong here.
This is a call to the deepest kind of transformation. For those who:
Are curious about death and its sacred role in life.
Feel a deep calling to heal, grow, and reclaim what has been lost.
Are ready to step into the death space, whether personally or professionally.
Long to unearth ancestral wisdom and answer the call that lives in their bones.
Want to bring knowledge, integrity, and reverence to their work and communities.

Our Teaching / Learning / Creating Style at La Mort
We leave behind the polished, gate-keepy approach to education. We teach in ways that carry story and experience. We listen. We laugh (a lot). We go off-script sometimes. We cry (with you)(for those you’ve loved)(for those we’ve loved). We like science and studies and logical frameworks, but also mysticism and poetry and all that stuff. We really love to honor history and those who came before. We move through some serious curricula, but don’t take anything too seriously. We dedicate ourselves to seeing you, and want you to feel seen. We deeply honor our intuition and yours. We lead with integrity (always). And we welcome the odd-balls and misfits, because it takes one to know one.
